Who We Are

Who We Are

Here you will find the Bible as our only rule for faith and practice. We seek to speak where the Bible speaks and to be silent where the Bible is silent. Jesus said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:18-20).  We are a Bible centered, mission minded, and family oriented church.

The churches of Christ find their origin in the New Testament. They are mentioned in Romans 16:16.  Anywhere and at anytime people follow the New Testament pattern without addition or deletion calling Bible things by Bible names and doing Bible things in Bible ways, you will find a church of Christ. We are a product of the pure seed planted in pure hearts (Luke 8:11, I Peter 1:23). To be a church of Christ means to preach and practice the same message as taught in the New Testament. When any group of people leaves the New Testament pattern, they cease to be a church of Christ. We hope you will take some time to search the Scriptures and compare what we say and do with what you read.

No Matter Who You Are

At the East Side Church of Christ, there is a place for you.  Whether you are young or old, married or single, a new or older Christian, there are numerous things you can do to influence others for the cause of Christ. You have something to offer. YOU have the power to influence others.

No Matter Where You Are

No matter where you are YOU can help others with their struggles and concerns. Perhaps you are lying in a hospital bed, busy at work, struggling with a family crisis, alone for the first time, or busy raising a family, you have within your reach the power to make a difference in the lives of others. Through prayer, or words of encouragement, an act of kindness, in leading a Bible study, or by perhaps doing all four, you can help others to grow closer to God.

No Matter What You Might Think

With God working in us to create both the desire and power to do His will (Phil. 2:13), we can accomplish great things. When we pray (James 5:16), when we plant, and when we water, God will give the increase (1 Cor. 3:7). Together, all of us can minister to God, one another, and to the world.

We would be thrilled for you to join us at East Side at your next opportunity!
